How to make Kimchi Fried Rice – Kimchi Bokkeumbap Recipe

Kimchi Bokkeumbap is an easy fried rice using just a few ingredients, perfect for a Monday night. As you have probably already figured out, kimchi is one of my favorite go-to ingredients. Have fun in the kitchen and enjoy!

  • 3/4 cup kimchi, chopped
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 2 cups leftover rice (cold)
  • 2 eggs

sauce (combine in a small bowl):

  • 1 teaspoon gochujang
  • 1 dash soy sauce
  • 1 dash sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Just a few basic ingredients here. Start by chopping up 2 slices of leftover bacon. These are already cooked and will be a very tasty addition to the fried rice. Also slice a couple cloves of garlic very thinly, like Pauly did in Goodfellas when they were in prison.

In a hot wok, swirl a couple tablespoons of oil in and fry your eggs, one at a time. They will top the finished rice. Set aside. Put in the rice, garlic and bacon and stir fry until the rice is cooked though and the garlic is fragrant. Add the kimchi and continue to cook until well combined. Finally, add your gochujang sauce and mix well. Serve in bowls and top each serving with a fried egg.

Simply break the egg over the rice and mix well. Enjoy!
